‘Tis the Season

The Big Day has passed relatively calmly, which is a miracle where my family is concerned. I actually enjoyed myself. Dinner was smooth - I believe we’ve actually convinced my mother that 36 different kinds of food to feed nine people is just wholly unnecessary. We ended up with only six this year.

The gift-giving and gift-receiving also went well. Everyone received their gifts from Australia, which was fun to watch. My brother scored big points with his gift of DVDs. Here’s the list:

  • About a Boy
  • Sabrina
  • Grosse Pointe Blank
  • Backdraft
  • Regarding Henry
  • Mansfield Park
  • Hope Floats
  • Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
  • 28 Days
  • How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Kelly won the prize again this year for Hitting the Nail on the Head with Trevor Rabin’s 90124 (I shrieked) and Fuel’s Sunburn. My folks outdid themselves with a new Dell laptop battery for my Latitude. Ooooh! Damn!

Again, it’s good to be me.

It would seem that I got everything I wanted this Christmas, and I’m very blessed. Well… there is one thing I was hoping for, but it hasn’t happened. ::sigh::   I will live. ::smile::

There are just too many thoughts swirling around my brain. Thinking of birthdays and lost times, new times to become memories, the strange, the sweet, the frustrating. It’s like I’ve accidentally scattered into little pieces and I keep finding them along the way.

I fell asleep dreaming of a kiss, and woke up with “Mom! Mom!” in my ear. Sometimes the world feels surreal.

Going back to dreaming,
