Does this stuff only happen to me?

Long day at the firm’s home office today. Had to attend a call session - a day where a bunch of brokers get together and make phone calls. It’s like our monthly socialization or something - we’re rather solitary animals. I decide to sneak out early to enjoy the sunshine before the Spring rains set in again - which, knowing our weather, could be within the next five minutes.

I opened the door to my car to be met by a strangely overwhelming sweet smell. As I sat down and turned to set my bag on the passenger seat I realized why.

A can of V@nilla Coke had exploded in its cupholder.

Oh geez. Give me a break. Apparently the can had been rolling around in the back deck of my car for a few months, unbeknownst to me. (I don’t clean my car out often, so sue me.) I found it when I tried to put the top down for the first time a week ago, and moved it to the cupholder. I had every intention of throwing it away at the first opportunity, but, yeah. (Like I said, I don’t clean my car out often.)

Poor can of soda. The integrity of the aluminum must have been compromised by the amount of time it spent alternately sunning and freezing on the deck of my car. One mildly warm day, and SPLAT! I have Coke all over my gearshift. And cupholders. And steering wheel. And emergency brake handle.

::sigh::

On a slightly lighter note, though, the can looked really cool. The metal had split at the top like it had been sliced open with a knife. It’s a shame I couldn’t've saved it for Justin. He would’ve loved it.

Weirdness,
