The Future and the Past - in Writing

‘Tis nearly time for the annual ritual of the summer regional sales meeting for my firm. It began as a time for our vendors to take us to a getaway location (like Branson or Lake of the Ozarks), tell us about their product, pay for us to do some real training, and then ply us with food and drink etc. Now, in the day and age of Extreme Mutual Fund Company Paranoia, they still tell us about their product, but the food and drink are on us. Woot.

I’ve decided to spend my downtime at the regional catching up on things I should have been doing for the past six months. Things like read every post on RealityFuel, read a couple good books I’ve started but not completed, and work on wedding details. What I’m really looking forward to, actually, is updating my journal.

So much has happened in the past few months. Stephen moved back to St. Louis from Rolla. My boarder moved out (YAY!). Stephen’s junk moved in. Justin finished school. We opened the pool. We had a massive barbeque for my soon-to-be in-laws. I apparently wrecked my knee. The invitations came in. Stephen got a job (YAY! YAY!). Javier’s web site had the nearly-finishing touches put on it (thank God!).

Lots.

So, during the summer regional I’m going to read. Write. Think. Sleep. And yeah, maybe spend a little time on the lake. Maybe.

C’mon, Thursday.

Waiting,
michelle
