Rain Down on Me

Bridal showers are always interesting. It’s a mixture of two families that generally don’t know each other, combined with games that are silly, and gifts that take dreadfully long to open.

Except, mine was cooler than that. In my opinion. (Even though it did encompass everything listed above.)

Shock and surprise, none of Stephen’s extended family (related by blood) actually showed up. The sisters-in-law came, which was nice.

My mother-in-law-to-be Paula gave me Stephen’s great-great-grandma’s wedding ring and marriage certificate - from 1909! His g-g-grandma was 14 when she was married, and her wedding ring only fits my pinkie finger! (I thought I had small fingers!) The ring is engraved and the certificate is falling apart, and I just loved it all. I felt very special.

Carol and Tiffany and Kristi worked their butts off for my shower, and I have to say I couldn’t have scripted a better time. Geez, I could seriously go on and on about how great it was. Exactly the right people for exactly the best time.

Blessed,
michelle
