I downloaded the new version of Movable Type, and now I’m just dreading installing it.

I think Movable Type does what I want it to. Maybe. But more importantly, I think MT is just smarter than me. It uses MT-tags, and ifn commands, and all kinds of shit that make me feel about as stupid as they come. Creating and changing templates is a big fucking pain in the ass. There’s no Interface for Stupid People where you can click a few buttons and the changes are made.

I’m not a stupid person, technically speaking. It’s just that, at this point in my life, I do NOT have time to learn a new “language” - “movable-type”-ese.

So, I’m discussing this with my husband (who, by the way, runs an entire site just for this type of thing) and he’s laughing at me. Sorta. He says he’s got some old program he started during the creation of Diary-X.com, ogmios or something, that does what I want. (Of course, when he started to run it to show off, it crapped out, so…)

I’m just tired of one stupid program making me feel like such an ID10T. I’m hunting for someone to redesign my site right now, but I’m hardly even motivated to do that considering a new, pretty face won’t change the fact that it’s still this nasty Movable Type underneath, ruining my (online) world.

Eh. Whatever.
