Where am I?

I always wondered why people put “hiatus notices” on their site. Now I know. I’m not exactly going on hiatus; let’s say I’ve been on one. Since I last updated I’ve been going off my anti-dep meds, week by week, my friend Jen has come from Australia to stay with us, Justin has started fourth grade, I’ve become a year older, and work has been insane.

Looking forward, Jen returns from her Contiki tour of New York City on Friday, then we leave on Wednesday for a three-day trip to New Orleans. The foundation on our new house will be poured when I’m in New Orleans - typical. Justin turns 10 on August 31st, so we’re having a big BBQ/Pool Party for his birthday the Saturday before. Then Jen leaves on the 28th, more celebrating on the 31st, and we work our patooties off during Labor Day weekend to get the house ready to hit the market October 1st (and it is oh-so-not-ready).

Of course, then Javi wants a big redo of his site for his CD release on September 24th, so we have a couple weeks to work on that. Then October 1st hits and we have to live in a virtual “display home” every day until the house sells. Considering it’s usually more like a disaster area than a display home, I’m thinking I’d better stock up on Xanax (or move into a hotel).

I got S. Nine Inch Nails tickets for Father’s Day, so that’s Oct. 15th. October also brings the St. Louis Walk FAR for NAAR. I’m desperate for sponsors, so please please check it out! It’s for Autism research for Justin. Then of COURSE the big day arrives - my brother and his fiancee get married on October 22nd!

November brings a trip back to the Dominican Republic. The resort we stayed in for our honeymoon gave us a gift certificate for a free week’s stay in 2005 because we braved the hurricane aftermath. Woo! (Now we just have to cough up $1k for the plane tickets. Ack.) When we return from the DR we’ll spend much of our time packing.

Mid-December is our semi-scheduled move to the new house. And then Christmas, then collapse.

So now let’s see where the adventure actually takes us, shall we?

Waiting for February to sleep,
michelle
