I guess I’ve had five ultrasounds before today, and all of them were after the fourth month. No matter when I had them, it was always such a miracle to see the baby! Wheee! But today was something pretty special.

Since we had absolutely no idea what our due date was, the doctor set us up for an ultrasound to get a better idea. Turns out that we are 8.1 weeks pregnant! (Meaning every Tuesday I’m another week along, they say.) The baby looks like a little peanut, and is approx. 16mm long.

It was pretty groovy to see the little heart beating so quickly so early. 155 beats per minute, we were told. Wow. Such a tiny thing with such life already.

It’s really real. We’re counting it down til August 29th!
