For the Record

Since we've been talking about baby names, Justin has been asking what other names we considered for him. Luckily, I kept a pregnancy journal, so I could answer his question.

Perhaps for the record we should keep a list of baby names we're considering for the little one now.

  • Abigail
  • Alexandra
  • Alyssa
  • Ashley
  • Cassandra
  • Ella
  • Emma
  • Gabrielle
  • Hannah
  • Nicole
  • Olivia
  • Rachael
  • Rebecca
  • Samantha
  • Sarah
S.'s not a big fan of the girl names that shorten to boy names (Alex, Sam). He also doesn't care for Ella. I'm not a big fan of Nicole or Hannah since I've been semi-screwed by women of the same name. We're still leaning heavily towards Emma, but recently learned that Emma should be the number one girl name of 2006. I always lived with two or three Michelles in my classes, so maybe having the most popular name of the year isn't the best idea.

Another favorite question of Justin's is what I craved when I was pregnant with him. That answer's easy: Wild Cherry Slurpees and canteloupe. I have no idea why, but the child is built of those two items. With Ryan, it was anything sweet. Hence my current weight problem. With this little girl, I've been dying for Taco Bell (really just Meximelts with no meat) and fountain Dr. Pepper. Not the healthiest combination either.

When will I start craving fruits and vegetables? Life would be less conflicting then!

Counting down,
michelle

You have no idea who I am other than the fact that I used to used Diary-X and have been reading your journal for a long time. Anyway, being pleasantly inclined towards you, I wish to tell you that one of my favorite girl names of all time has always been Rachael. It's a lovely lovely name.

But I still think her nickname should be Peanut. :)

Echoing Sassy's words, I've been reading your journal for quite a while and love your candid writing style.

How about Anne, Elizabeth or Jennifer? Just thought I'd suggest the names I love!

Posted by: ann at April 30, 2006 09:03 AM

Ooh, Anne is my all-time favorite. How about Rachael Anne Deken? (Peanut for short.)

See, we've got it all figured out for you! Wasn't that easy? :)
